ABOUT ME
I'm Carl, and I've been building AI applications since before ChatGPT made it cool. I joined Aleph Alpha in October 2022 because I was excited by the transformer architecture and wanted to work at the cutting edge of what was possible with large language models.
Over 3+ years at Aleph Alpha, I progressed from AI Delivery Engineer to Senior AI Solutions Engineer. My work ranged from early discovery calls and use case exploration to bringing solutions to production. I worked across industries ranging from semiconductors to defense and public sector, taking on everything from technical architecture to leading engineering teams.
Before Aleph Alpha, I worked as a student research assistant at TU Dortmund's AI department and completed my master's thesis at the University of Amsterdam on semi-supervised learning on the hypersphere, supervised by Prof. Pascal Mettes. In 2024, I also spent time at Entrepreneur First in London, validating startup ideas and learning about the early stages of building companies through exposure to a wide range of industries and customer challenges.
Now with Zenze, I help growing businesses cut through the AI hype and build applications that actually deliver value.
